Fleet Support Centre Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Fleet Support Centre Engineer to provide real‑time technical assistance to train drivers and operations teams. The role involves monitoring locomotive systems remotely, diagnosing faults, and coordinating recovery actions to ensure fleet availability and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor locomotive systems in real time and respond promptly to operational anomalies.
• Provide clear instructions to drivers and operational staff based on established protocols.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose railway equipment issues, supporting off‑site technical interventions.
• Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities, findings and recommendations.
• Analyse incidents, support post‑event investigations and contribute to root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams, contractors and the Reliability Growth team to implement corrective actions.
• Design diagnostic algorithms and standard troubleshooting sheets in partnership with engineering.
• Support data analysts and contribute to business‑analytics reporting using tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience in railway maintenance and operation.
• Experience with train monitoring system development, validation or commissioning.
• Background in railway or large‑scale industrial environments (e.g., power, naval).
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work under pressure.
