Forward-Deployed AI Architect

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Forward‑Deployed AI Architect to lead the technical delivery of an AI‑assisted operations platform for a travel disruption management client. You will translate operational knowledge and existing software into a testable system with explicit human approvals and traceable decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical approach, engineering plan, implementation quality and evidence of readiness, partnering with the engagement Principal.
• Establish an evidence‑based technical baseline, inspect code, infrastructure, APIs and operator workflows before estimating the build.
• Build and review critical components, prove an end‑to‑end path in the client’s test environment and verify API access, event contracts and error handling.
• Design maintainable rule and knowledge separation, supporting versioned updates with traceable approval and rollback.
• Review and test code (including AI‑generated code), set up automated CI checks, integration tests and decision logs.
• Maintain concise architecture and decision records, raise blockers early and propose simpler alternatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience taking applied AI or LLM‑enabled workflows from prototype to operational use.
• Strong hands‑on software engineering, architecture and API integration skills.
• Ability to turn incomplete or conflicting discovery material into implementable, testable specifications.
• Sound judgment on structured rules, AI reasoning, human review and their failure modes.
• Confidence to challenge assumptions and communicate alternatives across business and engineering teams.
