General Ledger Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented and proactive General Ledger Accountant to join our Finance team. You will support the General Ledger Coordinator in maintaining accurate and compliant ledger accounting for our e‑commerce operations, playing an active role in month‑end closings, reconciliations and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Record general ledger entries accurately and ensure consistency across all accounting areas.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations, including intercompany, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules in line with accounting standards.
• Oversee valuation and periodic reconciliation of owned inventory in close collaboration with Logistics and Controlling.
• Post personnel‑related costs, including payroll and related adjustments.
• Manage monthly VAT settlements and the annual VAT declaration.
• Assist in maintaining accounting schedules and supporting audit documentation.
• Participate in month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Work closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure data consistency.
• Contribute to process improvements and system optimisation.
• Support special projects and ad‑hoc analyses requested by management.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting roles.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Attention to detail and a problem‑solving mindset.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is a plus.
• Collaborative, proactive and comfortable in a fast‑moving international environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Navision is a plus.
