Graduate Field Service Engineer – Fast‑Track Program

About the role

Applied Materials is launching a fast‑track graduate program for Field Service Engineers in Europe. The role is based in Agrate Brianza, Italy and offers new graduates the chance to work on cutting‑edge semiconductor and display equipment, gaining hands‑on experience across multiple technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced wafer‑fabrication equipment.
• Use digital analytics and systematic troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Coordinate on‑site activities and communicate status and recommendations to customers.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (BSc or MSc) in mechanical, electrical, information systems or a related engineering discipline.
• Advanced English proficiency and fluent Italian.
• Strong analytical mindset able to interpret schematics, plant documentation and hardware data.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas system components.
• Familiarity with semiconductor processes such as Chemical Vapor Deposition, Atomic Layer Deposition, Plasma Reactive Ion Etch, Physical Vapor Deposition, Anneal and Implant.
