Head of Public Policy, Italy

About the role

Deliveroo, now part of DoorDash, is looking for a Head of Public Policy, Italy to join its Rome team. This is a hybrid role reporting to the VP, International Public Policy at DoorDash, based in Europe. You will help lead public policy strategy, run advocacy campaigns and represent Deliveroo and the broader DoorDash group to key external stakeholders across Italy.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate legislative and regulatory developments at regional and national levels, identifying risks and opportunities and shaping company positions with internal teams.
• Design and run advocacy campaigns using outreach, research, coalition-building, mobilization and public relations to influence policy outcomes.
• Build relationships with policymakers, public officials, labour unions, industry associations and other key stakeholders across Italy.
• Represent Deliveroo in government consultations, public forums and industry and union negotiations.
• Advise global leadership and cross-functional teams on Italian political dynamics.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading public policy engagements, regulatory advocacy and strategic campaigns in Italy, in an agency, in-house or government setting.
• Deep understanding of Italian politics, legislation and public policy frameworks.
• Established relationships with Italian policymakers, regulators, trade associations and political stakeholders.
• Bilingual communication in English and Italian, able to tailor complex policy positions to different audiences.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced global organisation.
• University degree in law, public policy, political science or a related field.
• Nice to have: knowledge of gig economy regulation, labour affairs, marketplace platforms or e-commerce policy.
