Internship – Emergency Preparedness Platform (EPP 3.0) Implementation

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a motivated intern to support the Emergency Preparedness Platform (EPP 3.0) implementation across its EMOPS division in Rome. The intern will work with the platform development team to ensure new functionalities are tested, documented and rolled‑out effectively, contributing to UNICEF’s global emergency readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Perform functional testing of new EPP 3.0 features and validate calculations.
• Document identified bugs, issues and test results in a clear, structured manner.
• Assist in translating user feedback into Product Backlog Items for developers.
• Provide first‑line user support, answer queries and help organise webinars and training sessions.
• Contribute to user guides and other guidance materials.

Required profile

• Current university student (undergraduate or graduate) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Required skills

• Functional/software testing.
• Issue documentation and tracking.
• Basic familiarity with web‑based platforms and data integration concepts.
