Internship - IT Governance and Intellectual Property

About the role

KPMG is looking for a motivated intern to join its Advisory team in Milan, focusing on IT governance, software asset management and intellectual property. You will support clients in optimizing software usage, controlling licensing costs and ensuring compliance within complex cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse software usage throughout its lifecycle to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
• Support software license and asset management activities for client projects.
• Contribute to technical, architectural and contractual analyses related to licensing.
• Perform basic contract analysis of licensing terms and conditions.
• Assist in defining and improving asset‑management processes and controls within IT systems.
• Help clients evaluate, select and manage SAM tools.
• Use data‑analysis techniques to support control processes in IT environments.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Engineering Management, Business with a focus on computer sciences, or a related field.
• Strong interest in software license management and IT governance.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret contractual language.
