Junior Accountant

About the role

Atlantic Gate is seeking a Junior Accountant to join its finance team in Genoa. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience supporting the accounting and reporting functions of the company’s Italian entity within an international logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record and reconcile daily financial transactions.
• Assist with account reconciliations, variance analysis and shipment job costing reviews.
• Prepare basic monthly financial reports such as profit & loss and balance sheet.
• Support statutory filings, including VAT and other local requirements.
• Help with month‑end closing activities and reporting to headquarters.
• Process accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Prepare audit documentation and respond to internal requests.
• Liaise with internal teams, banks, vendors and customers.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (or near completion).
• 0–2 years of accounting or finance experience, including internships.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Interest in learning local GAAP and statutory requirements.
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Proactive, hands‑on mindset with a willingness to learn.
• Team player with a positive and reliable attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
