Junior DevOps Engineer – AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes (Freelance, Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to join the infrastructure team of a fast‑growing fintech on a freelance basis. You will work fully remote, collaborating directly with the existing infrastructure engineer to scale and maintain an AWS‑native stack.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, EKS, ECS, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Secret Manager, OpenSearch, Kafka).
• Run containerised workloads on Kubernetes/EKS, handling cluster management, scaling and high‑availability deployments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to automate builds, tests and deployments.
• Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform across the full stack.
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Apply cloud security best practices, including IAM, security groups and VPC configuration.
• Handle infrastructure change requests from backend and frontend teams and automate operational processes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering.
• Strong hands‑on production experience with AWS services.
• Proven expertise in Kubernetes orchestration and cluster management.
• Extensive experience with Terraform as the primary IaC tool.
• Excellent command of English.
