Junior Mechanical Engineer – Research & Engineering

About the role

Institute Itech is looking for a precise and passionate Junior Mechanical Engineer to join its research and engineering team in Milan. The role is transversal, allowing the candidate to contribute to multiple flagship projects that span environmental technology, urban infrastructure, and advanced engineering platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine 2D and 3D mechanical designs using CAD software.
• Produce detailed technical drawings, assembly models, and component specifications.
• Iterate designs based on engineering requirements, manufacturing constraints, and project feedback.
• Maintain organized, version‑controlled design documentation.
• Support physical prototyping of mechanical components and assemblies.
• Assist in setting up and executing mechanical testing and validation procedures.
• Document test results and contribute to technical reports and design reviews.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or early‑career mechanical engineer.
• Strong attention to detail and passion for applied R&D.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior engineers, project managers, and researchers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software (2D/3D).
• Mechanical design and drafting.
• Prototyping and testing of mechanical components.
