Junior Web Developer

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Junior Web Developer to join its fully remote web team. You will work on high‑fidelity websites and web applications, collaborating with visual designers, UX specialists and other developers to deliver modern, accessible, and performant user experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain responsive web pages and applications using HTML, CSS (SCSS) and JavaScript.
• Develop new features and update existing content in React/TypeScript projects.
• Ensure code follows Canonical’s style guidelines, SEO best practices, and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with UX designers and backend engineers to integrate UI components.
• Monitor and optimise web performance across devices and browsers.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent education in a related field.
• Based in an EMEA timezone (Europe, Middle East or Africa).
• Passion for web standards, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a distributed team.
