Junior Web Developer

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Junior Web Developer to join its fully remote web team. You will work on high‑fidelity websites and web applications, collaborating with visual designers, UX designers, and other developers to deliver modern, accessible, and performant web experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain high‑fidelity web sites and web apps using HTML, CSS (SCSS) and JavaScript (React, TypeScript).
• Update existing projects, add new pages, and manage incoming content requests.
• Ensure compliance with style guides, SEO best practices, and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with UX designers, visual designers, and backend developers.
• Monitor and improve web performance across devices and browsers.

Required profile

• Based in an EMEA timezone (Europe, Middle East or Africa).
• University degree or equivalent education.
• Passion for web standards, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to share knowledge.
