Key Account Manager

About the role

Oerlikon Metco is seeking a proactive Key Account Manager to lead the commercial and technical relationship with assigned customers. You will be responsible for achieving sales targets, expanding market potential, and acting as the primary interface between the customer and our engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute pricing strategies, prepare quotations, and manage contractual terms within company guidelines.
• Define sales budgets and forecasts per account, contributing to overall country budget goals.
• Identify decision‑makers, build account profiles, and create tailored sales plans in collaboration with sales, segment, and product managers.
• Consult customers on coatings and applications, recommend products, manage sampling and demonstrations, and support new application development.
• Generate new prospects, nurture leads, and convert them into long‑term accounts.
• Provide post‑sale support, handle quality claims, and manage cash collection and receivables.
• Maintain accurate customer data in the CRM system and relay market feedback, competitive intelligence, and pricing trends to internal teams.
• Represent Oerlikon Metco at trade shows, industry events, and seminars as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of sales experience in a similar technical environment.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel.

Required skills

• Knowledge of thermal spray coating technologies.
• Familiarity with laser cladding solutions.
• Experience using a CRM system.
