Language Instructor (Italian & English) – Part‑time

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Language Instructor to join our team in Vicenza, Italy. In this part‑time role you will teach both Italian to service members and families and English as a Second Language to non‑native speakers, helping them integrate into the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Italian language courses for beginner (8 sessions/year) and intermediate (4 sessions/year) levels.
• Provide English as a Second Language instruction for basic and intermediate learners.
• Develop and maintain syllabi, lesson plans, and post‑course assessments.
• Lead classroom sessions twice weekly (2‑hour classes) over 8‑week cycles.
• Organise two cultural immersion field trips per session to reinforce learning.
• Administer end‑of‑course tests with a minimum 70% passing score.
• Maintain attendance records (DA Form 5900) and submit weekly reports.
• Prepare monthly status reports on program activities and outcomes.
• Adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles and proficiency levels.
• Manage class sizes ranging from 6 to 20 adult learners.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or higher in Education, Teaching, or Foreign Languages.
• At least 2 years of full‑time experience teaching Italian and/or English to adults.
• Fluent (Level 4) proficiency in both Italian and English – reading, writing, speaking.
• Strong curriculum development and language pedagogy knowledge.
• Experience with language proficiency assessment and evaluation.
• Ability to pass required background checks (U.S. citizen or Host Nation).

Required skills

• Microsoft Office for lesson planning and reporting.
