Lead Accountant, General Accounting

About the role

Analog Devices, a global semiconductor company, is looking for a Lead Accountant for its Italy entity in Milan Assago. The role covers the month-end close, statutory accounts, intercompany charges, VAT returns and support for the fixed asset, payroll and pension functions, with about 10% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Month-end close of the Italy entity and preparation of monthly P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
• Quarterly schedules for reporting and monthly accruals and prepayments
• Annual statutory accounts to strict deadlines and monthly cash forecasts
• Pension accounting and pension plan administration, and intercompany charges and postings
• VAT return preparation and submission for Italy, and support for the Global Fixed Asset and Payroll teams
• Quarterly lease schedules and compliance with SOX controls and corporate policies
• Cooperate with pension insurers, external auditors, tax office and tax advisors
• Help streamline processes and transfer them to the Shared Service Centre, and assist with M&A activity for Italy entities

Required profile

• Business Studies, Commerce or Accounting degree and a professional qualification in accounting, payroll and taxes
• Several years of relevant experience
• Good written and spoken English; exposure to a multicurrency environment
• Ability to work to tight deadlines, handle several issues at once and work independently

Required skills

• Italian GAAP (U.S. GAAP is an advantage)
• S4 HANA and SAP (good working knowledge is an advantage)
• Good Excel knowledge

What we offer

• Pay range in Italy of EUR 52,360 to EUR 75,820 base salary, which may vary by location
• Discretionary performance-based bonus
