LNG Commercial Operator – Genoa

About the role

Axpo Italia is seeking an experienced LNG Commercial Operator to join its Origination department in Genoa. The role focuses on managing the full deal lifecycle and the technical aspects of LNG bunkering, GU‑CD, and transshipment operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct compatibility studies for Ship‑to‑Ship (STS) and Shore‑to‑Ship operations, including vetting procedures.
• Analyse feasibility and timing of GU‑CD, bunkering and transshipment operations.
• Maintain accurate contract records (nominations, customs, vessel documentation, credit documentation, invoicing, PDAs/FDAs, Bunker Delivery Notices, Bills of Lading, demurrage claims).
• Appoint shipping agents, customs agents and independent surveyors in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with Trading and Scheduling teams to manage vessels and the full deal lifecycle.
• Capture, record, reconcile internal trading and shipping system data for LNG volumes, load/discharge dates and accounting requirements.
• Review contracts and General Terms & Conditions from an operational perspective and draft confirmation notices.
• Liaise with ship owners and external operational teams on technical matters.
• Participate in JPO meetings to ensure efficient bunkering delivery.
• Support design and continuous improvement of operational procedures, manuals, checklists and HAZID/HAZOP documentation.
• Verify LNG quality specifications at load/discharge ports against contractual obligations.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience working with LNG vessels and LNG bunker vessels.
• Strong knowledge of the marine industry, procedural aspects and STS compatibility processes.
• Technical background in GU‑CD, bunkering and transshipment operations.
• Ability to manage complex contract and documentation processes.
