Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Exide Technologies is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for its central department in Italy. The role focuses on optimizing manufacturing equipment performance and reducing maintenance costs through preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy standard preventive and predictive maintenance instructions for key equipment.
• Analyze equipment performance to maximize OEE and reduce breakdowns.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs, drive cost optimisation and support local teams in problem solving.
• Promote maintenance best practices, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement activities.
• Coordinate maintenance projects, OPEX and CAPEX activities for standard equipment.
• Manage maintenance CAPEX budget, follow‑up and reporting.
• Implement and maintain CMMS (users, assets, reports, KPIs, mobile, procedures, configuration).
• Prepare IATF and ISO procedures and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in an industrial or operations environment; automotive experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment fundamentals.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written, B2 level).
• Strong teamwork, goal orientation and communication skills.

• CMMS deployment and coordination.
• Maintenance software utilisation and implementation.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
