Mechanical Project Engineer – EMEA Conveyor Systems

About the role

The EMEA Mechanical Project Engineer will join Dematic’s Case Conveyor Systems team to design and implement project‑specific conveyor solutions for intralogistics. You will work on container and light unit‑load conveyor technology, collaborating with multiple specialist departments across the EMEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Create approval layouts and conduct safety assessments for mechanical aspects of projects.
• Develop detailed concepts from sales layouts, including material flow reviews and interface definitions.
• Perform collision checks, define access, service, and escape routes, and assess ergonomic requirements.
• Produce detailed mechanical designs, specify conveyor technology (drives, speeds, rollers, belts, guides, supports, suspension), and plan maintenance platforms.
• Generate technical specifications for purchased components, coordinate with suppliers, and create bills of materials.
• Support customer meetings, record measurements on‑site, and prepare purchase requisitions in SAP.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical engineering tasks related to conveyor system design.
• Ability to conduct safety and ergonomic assessments.
• Strong attention to detail for creating approval layouts and technical specifications.
• Comfort working in cross‑functional, multi‑national project teams.

Required skills

• SAP for purchase requisitions and data management.
• Mechanical design of conveyor components (drives, rollers, belts, guides, supports).
• Technical specification writing and bill‑of‑materials creation.
