Mechanical Project Engineer – EMEA

About the role

The EMEA Mechanical Project Engineer will design and implement conveyor systems for intralogistics projects across the EMEA region, focusing on container and light unit load technologies. You will work with Dematic’s standard belt and roller conveyor solutions, integrate purchased components, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver safe and efficient material handling systems.

Key responsibilities

• Create approval layouts and safety assessments for customer design freezes.
• Develop detailed mechanical concepts, material flow reviews, and interface clarifications with other trades.
• Perform collision checks, define access, service, and escape routes, and conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations.
• Produce detailed conveyor technology specifications, including drives, speeds, rollers, belts, guides, supports, and safety devices.
• Generate technical specifications for purchased components, coordinate with suppliers, and create bills of materials.
• Prepare purchase requisitions in SAP and support customer meetings during the engineering phase.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering background with experience in conveyor or material handling systems.
• Ability to conduct safety and ergonomic assessments and perform detailed technical design.
• Strong analytical skills for material flow and collision analysis.
• Experience working in multi‑national project teams.
