Mechanical R&D Engineer – Conveyor Systems

About the role

Mechanica Sistemi is seeking a Mechanical R&D Engineer to develop new concepts and prototypes for its conveyor systems used in mail, parcel and baggage handling. The role focuses on designing, testing and refining mechanical assemblies to improve performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and test mechanical components and assemblies within R&D projects.
• Support prototyping activities, build test benches and collect performance data.
• Collaborate with electrical, software and systems engineers to ensure functional integration.
• Analyze mechanical performance, identify issues and propose design improvements.
• Document designs, test results and technical evaluations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical design and testing environments.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools, such as Inventor.
• Strong interest in mechanical innovation and system optimisation.

Required skills

• Inventor (3‑D modeling and drafting).
• CAD modeling and drawing.
