Mechanical Systems Engineer (Nuclear)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to design, develop, and optimise mechanical components for a cutting‑edge micro modular nuclear reactor. The role supports licensing activities in the United States and will evolve as the company expands internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems such as piping, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and cooling loops for nuclear reactor applications.
• Create and modify detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks or CREO.
• Perform material selection, stress and thermal analyses to ensure performance under high‑radiation and high‑temperature conditions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, regulatory agencies and prototype test groups to verify feasibility and compliance.
• Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, engineering reports and bills of materials.
• Maintain version‑controlled design files and support the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2‑5 years of experience designing mechanical systems for nuclear or high‑tech energy projects.
• Familiarity with nuclear safety, performance and regulatory standards.
