Microgrid Engineer – Power Systems Specialist

About the role

BaxEnergy is seeking a senior Microgrid Engineer to lead the development of advanced microgrid capabilities, including intentional islanding and seamless resynchronization. The role can be based in Acireale or Rome, or performed remotely under a freelance consultancy agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Design islanding logic for both grid‑forming and non‑grid‑forming modes.
• Implement synchronization and resynchronization sequences to ensure smooth transition between islanded and grid‑connected states.
• Coordinate control logic with protection systems to meet grid codes and reliability standards.
• Manage and resolve complex grid‑interaction edge cases in industrial or utility‑scale projects.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in microgrid systems and grid protection schemes.
• Hands‑on experience with industrial or utility‑scale microgrid projects.
• Solid understanding of power systems, grid integration, and relevant standards.
• Senior‑level professional capable of leading technical development and ensuring compliance.
