Operational Buyer

About the role

Nippon Sanso is seeking an Operational Buyer for its Italian Procurement department. Based in Milan, you will manage day‑to‑day procurement activities for OPEX and CAPEX spend, ensuring timely execution, compliance and strong supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end operational procurement process for assigned categories, from RFQ preparation to purchase order issuance and documentation in JDE.
• Ensure timely execution of purchasing activities in line with budgets, business needs and company procedures.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, finance and other stakeholders to clarify specifications and delivery requirements.
• Monitor open orders, delivery schedules and supplier confirmations, proactively addressing delays or non‑conformities.
• Maintain accurate procurement data, contracts, quotations and supplier records in digital tools.
• Support supplier onboarding, performance monitoring and periodic reviews together with Tactical Buyers and category managers.
• Contribute to savings tracking, KPI reporting and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Guarantee compliance with internal policies, legal requirements and delegated authority.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in business, economics, engineering, supply chain or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in operational procurement within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Detail‑oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with JDE ERP system.
