About the role
The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Ophthalmic Imager 3 to support diagnostic imaging services across its Naples location and satellite eye centers. The role combines technical expertise with patient‑focused care to ensure high‑quality ocular imaging for clinical and research purposes.
Key responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of ocular diagnostic tests, including color fundus photography, fluorescein and ICG angiography, OCT, A‑scan biometry, IOL Master, keratometry, slit‑lamp, gonio, external, and motility photography, as well as automated and manual perimetry.
- Document procedures and upload images to the EMR/PACS system accurately and promptly.
- Maintain equipment calibration, ensure proper functioning of imaging instruments, and manage inventory for daily clinical activities.
- Provide patient‑centric care, adhere to infection‑control standards, and protect patient confidentiality.
- Assist in training residents, fellows, faculty, and visiting technicians; act as a super‑user for imaging software implementations.
- Support clinical research projects and contribute to quality‑assurance activities within the imaging unit.
- Travel to satellite eye centers and work evenings or weekends as needed.
Required profile
- Competence in the theory, principles, and practice of eye care and ophthalmic imaging.
- Commitment to university policies, patient safety, and confidentiality.
- Ability to meet daily productivity goals and maintain high accuracy and professionalism.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and educational courses.
