Pre-Award Contract Manager

About the role

The Pre‑Award Contract Manager works closely with the Sales organisation to lead contract negotiations with clients before contract award. Reporting to Sales, the role ensures that contractual terms protect the company’s interests while supporting business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead review and negotiation of client contracts during the pre‑award phase.
• Identify, assess and negotiate contractual risks and opportunities, developing mitigation strategies with relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Finance, Legal, Insurance and other functions to address bonding, insurance and liability requirements.
• Prepare contract mark‑ups, counter‑proposals and alternative contractual solutions.
• Maintain accurate contractual documentation aligned with agreed commercial terms before signature.
• Serve as primary client contact on contractual matters and align internal stakeholder positions.
• Support bid and approval processes with clear risk assessments and collaborate with legal advisors to resolve complex issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or Law.
• 8‑10 years of contract management experience in heavy lifting, construction, EPC, energy or industrial projects.
• Proven track record negotiating complex commercial contracts with clients, contractors and partners.
• Strong commercial mindset with ability to balance business objectives and risk mitigation.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
