Programme Officer – Organizational Resilience Support

About the role

The Programme Officer (Organizational Resilience Support) will work within the Logistics Services Division at FAO headquarters, supporting the development and oversight of the organization’s resilience and business continuity management framework. The role ensures compliance with FAO policies and UN best‑practice standards, contributing to the robustness of administrative services.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate activities related to the Organizational Resilience Management System (ORMS), including preparation of reports and high‑level event documentation.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement resilience initiatives across all ORMS areas.
• Support business continuity management through Business Impact Analysis, maintenance, exercise and review (ME‑R) activities, and internal training.
• Assist in policy development, reviewing processes, tools and resources for compliance with FAO’s Administrative Manual.
• Prepare written outputs such as background papers, analyses, sections of reports, and inputs for publications.
• Contribute to budgeting and funding activities, including programme preparation, progress reporting, and financial documentation.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience in public administration, business continuity, or a related field.
• Experience in coordinating programme or project activities within an international organization or similar environment.
• Strong analytical abilities to monitor programme development, identify issues and propose corrective actions.
• Excellent written communication skills for drafting reports, background papers and policy documents.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and manage follow‑up actions.
