Project Engineer – Mechanical Design

About the role

Seares is seeking a Project Engineer to lead mechanical development of its innovative mooring system. The role combines design, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver high‑performance mechatronic products for marine applications.

Key responsibilities

• Execute mechanical development and create technical documentation (specifications, drawings, BOM, test plans).
• Interface with product and process development teams, partners and suppliers.
• Provide engineering expertise to manufacturing, quality, purchasing and R&D departments.
• Collaborate with electronic engineers on mechatronic product development.
• Work with program managers and global clients to ensure project alignment.
• Apply problem‑solving techniques and conduct design reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic, Mechanical, Aeronautical or Naval Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical system design and development.
• Expert proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred), including 3D modeling, CAM generation, PDM management and FEM simulations.
• Experience with FMEA, risk analysis and design review processes.
• Professional fluency in both Italian and English.
• Willingness to relocate to the Livorno area for full‑time production oversight.
