Project HSE Manager – Greenfield Site (Mantova)

About the role

Nestlé Purina is launching a new manufacturing site in Mantova and needs a senior professional to lead health, safety and environmental (HSE) activities throughout the construction phase. You will develop, communicate and enforce the Project HSE Management Plan, ensuring compliance with legislation, Nestlé standards and safe work practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously update the site HSE Management Plan, covering risk assessments, method statements, lifting plans, permits to work and emergency procedures.
• Monitor day‑to‑day site conditions, enforce safe access, signage, hygiene standards and emergency medical response.
• Coach managers and team leaders on HSE legislation, risk management and safe work practices, providing on‑site guidance and support.
• Audit HSE performance, report findings to Nestlé management and local authorities, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing HSE on large, multi‑contractor construction sites.
• Strong leadership with the ability to influence contractors, unions, regulators and local communities.
• Track record of translating HSE policies into practical, site‑specific action plans.
• Fluency in Italian and English.

Required skills

• Health & Safety certifications or equivalent training.
• Risk assessment and method‑statement development.
• Lifting plan creation and permit‑to‑work management.
• Emergency planning and response coordination.
