PV Solar Field Technician - Piedmont

About the role

Our client, a leading international renewable energy company, is expanding its Italian operations and seeks experienced Solar Field Technicians for utility‑scale photovoltaic farms in the Piedmont region. The role involves hands‑on installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of solar PV systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and test solar PV modules, inverters, transformers and related electrical components according to technical specifications.
• Perform system integration, grid‑connection procedures and pre‑commissioning inspections.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, and replace defective panels, inverters, cables or junction boxes.
• Monitor system performance, identify optimisation opportunities and keep accurate maintenance records.
• Ensure compliance with Italian electrical standards, conduct risk assessments and follow on‑site health and safety protocols.
• Provide technical support to operations teams, collaborate with engineers and report issues for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Electrical qualification or equivalent technical certification.
• Minimum 2‑3 years of proven experience working on solar PV installations.
• Fluent Italian and good command of English for daily operations and client communication.

Required skills

• Knowledge of solar inverters, transformers and electrical distribution systems.
• Understanding of high‑voltage and low‑voltage electrical systems.
• Familiarity with solar farm operations and maintenance procedures.
