Quality Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Specialist to join SASIB’s Quality team in Castel Maggiore. The role supports the development, production and continuous improvement of automatic packaging machines for the tobacco industry, ensuring high‑quality standards and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse internal quality KPIs (defect rates, rework, scrap, process deviations) and drive improvement actions.
• Lead root‑cause analysis for non‑conformities using 8D, 5‑Why, Ishikawa and coordinate corrective and preventive actions with Production, Engineering, R&D and Supply Chain.
• Support product and process development through design reviews, FMEA and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with the internal Quality System and operational procedures.
• Develop, maintain and update quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions and reports.
• Assist internal audits and participate in continuous‑improvement projects to enhance product reliability and manufacturability.
• Act as a reference point for quality issues on the production floor, promoting a culture of quality.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in industrial automation.
• In‑depth knowledge of mechanical drawing, production processes and mechanical machining in medium‑high complexity environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Italian.
