Quantitative Research Consultant – Economic Growth & Child Poverty (Remote)

About the role
UNICEF is seeking a senior quantitative research consultant to examine how Kenya's recent economic growth has impacted overall poverty and child poverty at both national and county levels. The consultancy lasts six months and is fully remote, allowing the consultant to lead a policy‑oriented study that informs more inclusive, child‑centred growth strategies.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive evidence review to select the most appropriate analytical framework.
- Compile and clean relevant macro‑economic and household data from national and sub‑national sources.
- Perform econometric analysis to assess the relationship between economic growth, poverty reduction, and child poverty outcomes.
- Draft a detailed working paper and an executive brief summarising findings and policy recommendations.
- Coordinate with UNICEF and OSE Innocenti stakeholders to ensure alignment with programme objectives.
Required profile
- PhD in Economics, Public/Social Policy, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in applied econometrics and empirical research.
- Proven ability to manage a research project independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
