Safety Engineer

About the role

Thales Alenia Space is looking for a Safety Engineer to provide Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) expertise for its space products. You will develop and implement dependability and safety programmes across all project phases, ensuring that customer requirements are met throughout the operational lifetime.

Key responsibilities

• Provide RAMS engineering expertise and analysis during product development.
• Develop, maintain and implement a Dependability & Safety programme plan for all project phases.
• Perform RAMS design, modelling, simulation and verification activities.
• Represent RAMS in technical meetings and influence design decisions.
• Review RAMS analyses performed by subcontractors and approve design changes.
• Identify risks and opportunities early and propose mitigation actions.
• Prepare subsystem and equipment RAMS requirements and perform trade‑off evaluations with other attributes such as mass, cost and performance.

Required profile

Required skills

• Knowledge of safety and RAMS assurance concepts.
• Experience with electronic design engineering.
• Proficiency in RAMS analysis methods such as FMEA, FTA and FDIR.
