Senior Data Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer at Satispay you will shape the evolution of a next‑generation data platform, enabling analysts and business teams to model, analyse, and leverage data safely and autonomously.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of a modern Data Lakehouse strategy, integrating Amazon Redshift and Redshift Serverless for high‑performance analytics.
• Own the dbt framework, establish CI/CD pipelines, testing, and enable self‑service data modelling for analysts.
• Build and maintain orchestration layers with Apache Airflow, optimizing complex DAGs for batch and near‑real‑time workloads.
• Architect and scale the machine‑learning platform, including a Feature Store and pipelines for model training and inference.
• Design streaming transformation pipelines using Apache Flink or Spark Streaming to power real‑time analytics.
• Manage data ingestion via Fivetran and custom Python pipelines, ensuring cost‑efficient and reliable data flow.
• Implement data governance, security, and compliance controls to meet financial regulations.
• Mentor junior engineers and champion documentation and engineering standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience designing, scaling, and maintaining enterprise data platforms.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset, teamwork orientation, and ownership attitude.
• Fluent in Italian and English, with excellent communication skills for technical and business stakeholders.
• Passion for FinTech or fast‑paced startup environments.
