Senior Director, Operations and Lean

About the role

The Senior Director, Operations & Lean will join the Advanced Visualization Solutions (AVS) Probes leadership team to drive operational excellence across a global, cross‑functional environment. Reporting to the General Manager, this role shapes how the business operates, champions Lean transformation, and delivers measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, innovation and people.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a change agent to raise Lean maturity and strengthen operating discipline.
• Own the operating rhythm for Probes staff, ensuring clear escalations, decision flow and alignment to priorities.
• Partner with operations and supply‑chain teams to improve engineering‑to‑operations flow and execution efficiency.
• Support the Productivity Leader in converting VCP opportunities into cross‑functional actions and validated financial impact.
• Collaborate with Product Quality, QA/RA, supply‑chain and engineering leaders to structure problem‑solving on recurring quality and operational issues.
• Deploy and coach Lean and Heartbeat practices across global RDOs, including daily management, standard work, leader standard work, kaizen, VSM, visual management and action tracking.
• Build Lean capability by coaching leaders, developing practitioners and embedding repeatable operating mechanisms.
• Interpret business challenges, evaluate data and recommend practical operating improvements.
• Influence operating plans, budget trade‑offs and capacity discussions with fact‑based decision support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, Supply Chain or related field.
• Significant experience in Lean, Lean‑Agile, operations, engineering operations or manufacturing within a global matrix organization.
• Proven track record of leading change and improving performance.
• Demonstrated ability to teach, coach and apply Lean methods.
