Senior Inventory Accounting Analyst

About the role

Barilla is seeking a Senior Inventory Accounting Analyst to join the Inventory Evaluation and Inspection unit in Parma. The role ensures accurate inventory valuation, supports month‑end closings and coordinates physical inventory controls across plants and third‑party locations.

Key responsibilities

• Apply FIFO/LIFO principles for raw materials, packaging, semi‑finished and finished goods in SAP‑managed companies.
• Coordinate centralized inventory valuation, variance analysis and planning cycles.
• Reconcile SAP R/3 data with inventory reports and manage labour cost allocation for production cost centres.
• Perform annual physical inventory controls at plants, warehouses, mills and external sites, ensuring correct booking in Barilla systems.
• Provide inventory and production cost information to external auditors and support statistical reporting to ISTAT and Unionfood.

Required profile

• University degree in Economics or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in administration or finance roles.
• Fluency in English.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including short weekend trips for inventory inspections.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP R/3.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
