Senior Process Engineer – Energy & Petrochemical Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join Segula Technologies' Energy Team, focusing on the design of complex chemical and petrochemical facilities. The role involves leading the creation of process documentation and collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams across the energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop detailed engineering solutions for chemical and petrochemical plants.
• Prepare and review utilities flow diagrams (UFDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment data sheets, instrument data sheets, interlock descriptions, cause‑and‑effect diagrams, and heat & material balances.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration ensuring compliance with design and quality standards.
• Guide and mentor less‑senior engineers in technical tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas, fertilizer or petrochemical industry.
• Proven experience in process and utilities engineering for large‑scale projects.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Process simulation software: Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, UniSim, HTRI, Flarenet, Pipenet.
