Senior Ruby on Rails Developer (AI-Augmented Engineering)

About the role

Proxify is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer who treats software engineering as both an art and a disciplined craft. You will lead the design, development, and scaling of mission‑critical web applications while integrating AI‑assisted tools to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain modular, testable, high‑performance backend architectures for complex business domains.
• Drive the adoption of AI‑assisted coding practices, demonstrating safe use of generative tools to boost productivity.
• Optimize database queries, resolve N+1 issues, and ensure robust API security.
• Mentor team members on best practices, automated testing, and clean Ruby code.
• Deploy containerised services using Docker to cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Heroku.

Required profile

• 5+ years of production experience with object‑oriented Ruby and large‑scale Rails applications.
• Strong understanding of architectural patterns, domain‑driven design, concurrency, and caching strategies.
• Proven track record of contributing to open‑source Ruby/Rails projects.
• Experience working within the CET time zone (+/- 3 hours).
