Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Ermes, a leading cyber‑security company recognized by Gartner, is looking for a versatile Senior Software Engineer to design and maintain user‑facing applications. You will focus on desktop clients and browser extensions, delivering reliable and intuitive experiences across the company’s security ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain desktop applications and browser extensions for Windows and macOS.
• Collaborate with product management and customers to translate detailed requirements into functional software.
• Work closely with the research team to design high‑performance solutions.
• Utilize AI‑assisted coding tools to accelerate development, debugging, and code review.
• Document code, follow disciplined development practices, and ensure secure coding standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering processes.
• Commitment to security, privacy, and secure code design guidelines.
• Fluent in spoken and written Italian and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript or Python.
• Experience with native application development on Windows and macOS.
• Knowledge of desktop frameworks such as Electron or C# (.NET).
• Familiarity with enterprise deployment tools (e.g., GPO, SCCM).
• Performance analysis and tuning (memory usage, CPU utilization, battery consumption).
