Sensor System Specialist – Motion Sensors (IMU)

About the role

Bosch Sensortec, a Bosch division focused on MEMS-based sensing solutions for consumer electronics, is hiring a Sensor System Specialist for motion sensors in its Design Center in Milan. The role takes part in the development of next-generation IMUs and covers system definition, simulation and measurement analysis, verification approaches and coordination across disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Define the system of next-generation IMUs and derive key requirements for MEMS, ASIC, package, testing, calibration and software.
• Plan, organise and analyse simulations, experiments and measurements to assess sensor concepts, performance, robustness and failure modes.
• Contribute to defining verification and validation approaches for sensor systems.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary areas so that system requirements, design assumptions, verification evidence and implementation constraints are aligned.
• Analyse technical trade-offs, identify gaps between requirements and measured or simulated behaviour, and propose solutions.
• Document technical results and present them in project reviews with internal stakeholders and customers.
• Interface with internal experts, central research and external partners to evaluate new technologies, architectures and concepts for future sensor systems.

Required profile

• Industry experience with a deep understanding of gyroscope and acceleration sensor systems.
• Understanding of the system-level impact of design choices and their trade-offs.
• Experience in sensor system modelling and verification strategies.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Master's degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering with outstanding results.
• Interdisciplinary comprehension, customer orientation, creativity and entrepreneurial mindset; strong decision-making and teamwork skills.

What we offer

• Gross annual salary (RAL) within the range of €60,000 to €70,000 for a 40-hour week, depending on experience.
