Shift Assistant (Assistente Capoturno)

About the role

Greif, a global leader in performance packaging, is hiring a Shift Assistant (Assistente capoturno) at its Castenedolo plant. The role supports the shift foreman in running production lines, with a stated annual pay of 29,000 EUR and possible eligibility for a short-term incentive.

Key responsibilities

• Start and supervise production lines, monitoring process parameters and intervening to ensure operational continuity and quality standards.
• Support shift management by coordinating production activities and colleagues alongside the shift foreman.
• Set up moulds, change format, colour and material, and prepare lines for production.
• Carry out routine maintenance (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and basic electrical PES-PAV) to keep equipment efficient.
• Identify and report production anomalies and contribute to their resolution.
• Take part in continuous improvement projects and Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Apply 5S principles to keep the workplace orderly, clean and safe.
• Support implementation of company policies on quality, environment and safety (EHS).

Required profile

• Normally a secondary school diploma (or equivalent) and 2-4 years of experience in the sector.
• Proven ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
• Ability to interpret and translate technical specifications for production machinery.
• Deep knowledge of production equipment.
