Site Mechanical & Electrical Supervisor (HVDC Building Services)

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY is looking for a Site Based Electrical & Mechanical (Building Services) Supervisor to join its HVDC team. The supervisor coordinates and inspects building services installation works across the full scope of delivery, including LV power distribution, lighting, HVAC, domestic water, BMS, fire detection and security systems. The role reports to the Civil Construction Manager and integrates into the site management team. It is fully site based at two locations in Italy.

Key responsibilities

• Support engineering activities related to building services, bringing the construction perspective, lessons learned and best practices while ensuring constructability.
• Review BS ITPs and ITRs and all technical submissions from subcontractors to ensure compliance with design and specifications.
• Coordinate on-site building services installation activities in line with the project schedule, delivering cost-effectively in line with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule and safety requirements.
• Help the Civil Construction Manager prepare detailed working plans for subcontractors, including local resources, equipment, suppliers and milestones.
• Keep BS-related documentation revised and up to date, so the latest versions are used on site.
• Monitor and inspect installation activities to ensure required quality according to standards and specifications.
• Lead or take part in site meetings on the BS scope, with customers, subcontractors and site personnel when needed.
• Prepare and coordinate red-marked drawings with subcontractors and engineering.

Required profile

• Degree-qualified (BEng, BSc, MSc or equivalent) in electrical, mechanical or building services engineering, or significant experience in an MEP supervisory role.
• Relevant on-site experience.
• Experience in industrial projects; experience in the energy sector is a plus.
• Fluent English and Italian, written and spoken; French is an advantage.
• Ability to work in an international, multicultural environment.
