Software Engineer III – Backend (Core Domain)

About the role

As a Software Engineer III on the Core Team, you will help build and maintain the backbone of Satispay's payment platform. You will work on critical systems that support multiple services and product teams, ensuring reliability and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to core platform domains such as the Transaction Ledger, Identity & Access Management, and Payment Orchestration.
• Develop risk and financial engines for bank integrations, credit risk assessment, and real‑time fraud detection.
• Participate in technical analysis for new projects and produce high‑quality documentation.
• Ensure engineering quality by writing clean code, implementing rigorous testing, and executing safe rollouts.
• Leverage AI‑powered tools daily to optimise code, speed up root‑cause analysis, and generate documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with senior staff to improve architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Problem‑solver mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Backend Engineer building scalable microservices.
• Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with solid understanding of distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS is a plus) and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
