Software/Firmware Engineer (Embedded C/C++)

About the role

Secheron Hasler Italia is seeking a Software/Firmware Engineer to join its R&D team in Verona. You will work on embedded C and modern C++ applications for railway operator terminals (HMIs) and related software tools, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of safety‑critical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop firmware for microcontrollers integrated into HMI devices.
• Write and update technical documentation.
• Collaborate on the design and implementation of new features for operator terminals.
• Maintain and improve existing software/firmware components.
• Perform hardware debugging and integration using JTAG, oscilloscopes, and other tools.

Required profile

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, IT or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Strong knowledge of C and modern C++ (C++11/14/17).
• Experience with GNU autotools (automake) and Bash scripting.
• Hands‑on experience with microcontroller families such as NXP Arm Cortex‑M7 and TI Hercules.
• Proficiency in hardware debugging (JTAG, oscilloscope) and peripheral interfacing (I2C, SPI).
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Good command of English (B2/C1 level).
