Tax Controller – Italy (Trieste)

About the role

The Tax Controller will ensure full tax compliance for the company operating in Italy. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role combines preparation of tax filings, monitoring of fiscal regulations, and support for tax‑related audits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit tax returns, VAT registers, and related quarterly and yearly declarations.
• Monitor and implement new fiscal rules, including tax forecasts and advance payments.
• Manage withholding taxes, yearly forms, royalties, and documentation for preferential WHT rates.
• Calculate and prepare filings for other taxes such as stamp duty, corporate registration fees, and property taxes (IMU‑F23/F24).
• Coordinate tax audits, liaise with auditors, and prepare required documentation.
• Assist the Finance Manager with transfer pricing documentation and analysis of new accounting principles.
• Support the Finance team in tax benefit calculations and provide solutions for fiscal issues.
• Serve as the first point of contact with external tax consultants and support Operations on customs, VAT, and import matters.

Required profile

• University degree in Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in tax compliance, preferably in a tax consultancy firm or audit company.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• SAP FI (knowledge of SAP Financial modules).
