V2G Systems & Validation Engineer - Bidirectional Charging

About the role

MICLA is looking for a V2G Systems and Validation Engineer for bidirectional charging systems during the passenger car vehicle development phase. The role covers the development, integration and validation of EV charging functions such as AC/DC charging, Smart Charging, Plug & Charge, ISO 15118 communication, V2G, V2H and V2B, ensuring compliance with automotive, grid and cybersecurity requirements. It acts as a bridge between vehicle engineering, battery systems, power electronics, charging infrastructure providers, utilities and energy service partners.

Key responsibilities

• Define system requirements and technical specifications for bidirectional charging and V2X energy transfer functions.
• Develop and maintain feature roadmaps for Smart Charging, Plug & Charge and energy management services.
• Carry out system design for charging architecture, energy flow management and grid integration.
• Ensure compliance with international standards such as ISO 15118 and IEC 61851.
• Collaborate with the BMS, OBC, power electronics, connectivity, telematics and energy management teams.
• Define charging and V2G use cases, interfaces and performance targets.
• Support vehicle integration, testing, validation and issue resolution.
• Contribute to test infrastructure development, maintain and update the infrastructure simulator, and support vehicle testing.
• Support project management, technical reviews and cross-functional decisions.
