Warehouse Team Leader

About the role

Portwest is seeking a hands‑on Warehouse Team Leader for its new facility in Sulbiate. The role will lead the shift team, oversee inbound, storage and outbound processes, and ensure a safe, productive environment in a fast‑moving PPE manufacturing setting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all shift activities, including goods‑in, order picking, packing, replenishment and dispatch.
• Supervise, motivate and support warehouse operatives and forklift drivers to meet productivity and accuracy KPIs.
• Allocate workloads, conduct shift briefings and debriefings, and manage attendance, performance gaps and training needs.
• Maintain compliance with health‑and‑safety, hygiene and PPE handling procedures.
• Record stock movements, discrepancies and damages in the Warehouse Management System and support regular stock counts and audits.
• Escalate operational issues to the Warehouse Shift Manager or Operations Manager and act as the primary point of contact during the shift.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory or team‑leader role.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, KPIs and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Good level of English for communication and system use.
• Ability to work hands‑on alongside the team in a small‑team environment.

Required skills

• Familiarity with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP software.
• Forklift licence or experience operating warehouse equipment (preferred).
