About the role
The Cost Controller will join the finance team of a prestigious Belmond hotel in Portofino. You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling operating costs, ensuring data accuracy, and providing analysis that supports strategic decisions across all hotel departments.
Key responsibilities
- Daily monitoring of operating costs for Food & Beverage, housekeeping, maintenance and other areas.
- Verify correct allocation of costs to cost centres and system locations.
- Identify and analyse significant variances from budget and cost standards, producing supporting reports.
- Prepare monthly cost reports, highlight inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Support the annual budgeting process and produce periodic cost forecasts.
- Supervise inventory management for Food & Beverage and other materials, ensuring accurate valuation and accounting.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and assist auditors during reviews.
Required profile
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and financial management software.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.
