Product Lifecycle Engineer – Power Supply

About the role

Wärtsilä is seeking a Product Lifecycle Engineer to support the Power Supply product line (W46F, W46TS, W50). The role is permanent and primarily based in Trieste, Italy, with the possibility of other locations. You will work closely with the Technical and Commercial Manager to drive product development, profitability, and sales support.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate competitors and benchmark product performance.
• Create and maintain technical product information for internal and external use.
• Support cost‑saving initiatives and materialization targets.
• Assist sales and sales engineering on technical matters.
• Develop engine products together with cross‑functional teams.
• Coordinate change work, improve product manuals, and implement new features.
• Manage non‑standard requests efficiently.
• Represent product management in selected external meetings.
• Provide proactive input on ways of working and process improvements.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background (BSc or MSc in engineering).
• Understanding of the marine or energy engine market.
• Ability to grasp customer technical needs and requirements.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Proactive, positive attitude with a can‑do mindset.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
