Science Teacher & Head of Department (Middle School)

About the role

Inspired Education is seeking an outstanding Science Teacher to lead the Middle School Science programme at its Caviglia campus south of Milan. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to take on the role of School Science Coordinator, overseeing both curriculum delivery and departmental development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in general science, covering physics, biology and chemistry for Years 7‑9.
• Monitor student attainment through effective assessment, providing targeted interventions where needed.
• Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring health and safety compliance and managing departmental resources.
• Maintain departmental policies, documentation and risk assessments.
• Contribute to curriculum development and whole‑school improvement initiatives.
• Promote science through extracurricular activities, trips, competitions and events.
• Represent the department positively within the wider community and undertake duties assigned by the Principal or Senior Deputy.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with experience teaching Key Stage 3 Science.
• Enthusiastic, flexible team player willing to contribute to a collaborative school culture.
• Holder of an EU passport or a valid Italian work permit (permesso di soggiorno).
• Potential to assume middle‑leadership responsibilities.
