Backend Engineer – Remote

About the role

Vita Health is looking for a remote Backend Engineer to help scale its health‑tech platform. You will work closely with product, design and frontend teams to deliver reliable, high‑performing services that power digital experiences for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive technical direction, ensuring best practices in architecture, scalability and performance.
• Design and implement robust backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Manage and evolve AWS infrastructure, supporting CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and cloud architecture.
• Implement secure systems, including authentication, authorization and payment integrations.
• Collaborate with product to improve estimations, planning and roadmap alignment.
• Ensure reliability and maintainability through testing, monitoring and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hands‑on backend development experience.
• Proven ability to design scalable architectures and integrate external APIs.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and willingness to question the status quo.
• Comfortable taking ownership and working autonomously in a remote setting.
